The Allegiance Paradox - Beyond the Law: How Ethical Erosion and Policy Drift Undermine American Citizenship offers a groundbreaking examination of how American citizenship has shifted from a solemn civic commitment to a fragmented, transactional status. Through rigorous analysis of legal history, ethical philosophy, and contemporary geopolitics, the book reveals how the United States has drifted toward a permissive model of citizenship—one increasingly devoid of coherent standards of allegiance amid global mobility, dual nationality, and rising strategic competition.
Meet The Author
Sebastian Saviano is a writer and independent scholar whose work explores American identity, cultural tradition, and evolving forms of power. He is the author of America’s Cigar Story and Smoke & Oak, which trace how cigars and bourbon have shaped American craftsmanship, ritual, and class. His third book, The Allegiance Paradox, reexamines U.S. citizenship in an age of dual loyalties and global fluidity. Saviano pursued doctoral studies at Georgetown University, specializing in political theory, interdisciplinary methodology, and the philosophy of social science. Though he departed the formal PhD track, that training continues to inform his intellectual work—especially in The Allegiance Paradox, which draws on legal theory, history, and moral philosophy to challenge assumptions around dual nationality.
